1BC (ONEBC) is a registered provincial political party in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

When you volunteer or interact with our onboarding tools, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your city and postal code
- Your responses about priority issues, skills, availability, and engagement preferences
- Chat transcripts from the onboarding conversation
Why We Collect It
We use your information to:
- Coordinate volunteer activities and match you with opportunities
- Send party updates, event notices, and volunteer communications
- Connect you with other volunteers in your area for Local Organizing Committees
- Understand which issues matter most to our supporters
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
Consent
By submitting your information through our forms or onboarding chat, you consent to 1BC collecting and using it for the purposes listed above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
Security
We protect your data with reasonable security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure data storage. Only authorized 1BC team members can access volunteer information.
Your Rights
Under PIPA, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw your consent to further collection or use
- File a complaint with BC's Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner
We will respond to access or correction requests within 30 days.
